Kids Tournaments

General Info

Number of tournaments: We have 4 tournaments a year:
- Arden Open (January)
- Split Rail Cup (March)
- The Championships (August)
- Arden Finals (October)
Categories: 3 categories based on skill level:
- Red Ball (Typically kids age 5-8, or kids just starting out with tennis)
- Orange Ball (Typically kids age 8-10, or kids who have been playing for at least a year)
- Green Ball (Typically kids age 9-12, or kids who are more experienced and can demonstrate good technique)

Are there any age or skill level requirements to join?
- We have 3 categories where kids can play based on skill level: Red Ball, Orange Ball, and Green Ball.
What are the tournament dates? How long do they run for?
- We have 4 tournaments a year, in January, March, August, and October. Kids tournaments take place all in one day, typically on a Sunday.
Is there any cost to join?
- Yes. Registration is $20 per kid and that covers trophies given for 🥇, 🥈, and 🥉 place, as well as snacks and beverages provided for all kids.
How do I register my kid?
- Go to our Sign Up page to be added to our WhatApp group and complete the registration.
Where are the tournament matches played?
- All tournament matches are played at the Arden tennis courts.
What are the match formats?
- Matches in the Red and Orange Ball categories are played to 1 set of 4 games, no Ad. If games are tied 3-3, then the match is decided by a 7-point tiebreak.
- Matches in the Green Ball category are played to 6 games, no Ad. If 5-5, then the match is decided by a 7-point tiebreak.
Are there trophies/awards given to the winners?
- Yes, we have trophies for 🥇, 🥈, and 🥉 place in each of the 3 categories. Additionally, we give away some merchandise thanks to our Sponsors.
