• Are there any age or skill level requirements to join?
  • No. All ages and skill levels are welcome! If you’re a minor, you must get your parent’s consent before joining the group or participating in the tournaments.
• Do I need to be an Arden resident?
  • Yes. You must either be an Arden resident, or a resident’s family member who’s on the front gate’s access list.
• Is there any cost to join?
  • No cost at all. Joining the group and participating in the tournaments is totally free. If you wish to help, you can donate here.
• Can I join and not participate in the tournaments?
  • Absolutely. You can still join the group and meet other players to play or practice with. When you are ready, you can always join the next available tournament.

Tournaments

• What are the tournament dates? How long do they run for?
  • We have 4 tournaments throughout the year, typically 2 months each. Visit the Tournaments page for more info.
• If I join a tournament, where am I placed?
  • We have a ranking system and Divisions based on such ranking. Each Division has its own separate tournament, this ensures that players are matched with other players around their skill level or rating.
  • New players are placed, to start, in a Division that’s closest to their skill level. See keeping a balance to learn more.
  • At the end of each tournament, Divisions are rebalanced based on the latest rankings, so some players will move up in Division, while others will move down.
• Where are the tournament matches played?
  • All tournament matches are played at the Arden tennis courts.
• When are tournament matches played?
  • Once players have been matched with an opponent(s), they typically have 8-10 days (number might vary based on tournament format) to schedule and play their match. Players can schedule their match at their own discretion (date & time) within that timeframe. This allows everyone to continue enjoying tennis around their busy schedule!
• How long are the tournament matches?
  • Tournament matches vary in format depending on the tournament and tournament stage. Take a look at the Rules page to learn more.
• I’ll be out of town for a while. Can I skip a tournament?
  • Absolutely. Just keep in mind that ranking points are earned in tournaments, and ranking points are used for tournament seeding and Division placement.
• If I win a tournament, what do I get?
  • We have trophies and Wilson merchandise given for 🥇, 🥈, and 🥉 places in each Division, courtesy of our Sponsors. Additionally, you get your name added to our Trophy Room for all eternity!
• Is there an end-of-tournament party?
  • Yes there is! We schedule the tournament finals to be played on a Sunday morning, so people can come watch. At the conclusion of the final matches, we proceed with a small trophy ceremony to congratulate our winners, followed by a BBQ celebration at the Arden clubhouse around noon.
